[2 Degrés] = 2 artworks made out of salvaged and recycled materials by the citizens of Ile-de-France in workshops of collective community creation, and exhibited in the public area during the COP. A way to bring the COP21 to the civil society, and to represent it during the COP.
The association Dechets d'arts invites you to discover [2 DEGREES], an artistic and participative project for the climate. Two monumental artworks, "Flower Power" and "La Vitrine Bleue", will be made out of salvaged and recycled materials, by the citizens of Ile-de-France, in workshops of collective community creation. The two artworks will be exhibited in the public area, during the Conference. A way to bring the COP21 to the civil society, and to represent the civil society during the COP
- "La Vitrine Bleue" (The Blue Store Front) / / Joachim Romain
Who throws away what?
Find out the longest way before the dustbin ...
Overconsumption, advertisement, planned obsolescence. Joachim Romain, artist and resident at the 6B, questions our society's ingrained habits of production and consumption.
By choosing a discarded object that represents what we throw away, in order to recover it with blue flakes from advertising posters, Joachim recreates everyday sceneries petrified, sublimated and enhanced by the colour blue. The sky, the sea, the glacial atmosphere and our blue Planet...
- "Flower Power"// Anne-Dominique Gaté
To grow a meadow of 2 000 poppies, born to upcyled plastic bottles, on a forecourt or a brownfield, this is the wild dream of Anne-Dominique Gate to bring nature back into the city!
Symbolizing freedom and fragility, this flower is very sensitive to pesticides representing landscapes jeopardized by climatic changes and the hope that maybe one day even the asphalt will bloom and the bitumen will flourish.
The work challenges us: if we do nothing, maybe these plastic flowers might be the only ones we can admire … as souvenirs of landscapes from a forgotten yesterday.
