Insects and spiders are the main characters: the fragility of a bee and her copulation with a bumblebee, the complex weaving of a tarantula, the metamorphosis of a ladybird into a scorpion... By offering aesthetic and poetic lighting, the audience is sensitized to the importance of the biodiversity in nature.
The show “ZZZ’insectes” conceived by the Cie Myriam Naisy “L'hélice” is proposed to be played in 3 cities in Venezuela, from November 4th to November 8th in Caracas, Maracaibo and El Moján. The subject treated by this contemporary dance proposal is particularly important for this megabiodiverse country.
Insects and spiders, although small, are the main characters of this show which deploy in different stage sets. We are amazed by the fragility of a bee princess and her copulation with a bumblebee. We study and admire the complex weaving of a tarantula. We witness the Kafkaesque metamorphosis of a peaceful ladybird into an aggressive scorpion. Two spiders stretch into a strange well-crafted duo, and, as a response, two sensual beetles face in a single combat. The drawing of an Argus butterfly fluttering marvels us, as much as the ants gruelling labour. By offering aesthetic and poetic lighting, the conscience is opened and the audience sensitized to the importance of the biodiversity in nature. By imitating the hexapods, mandibles, arachnids and other coleoptera they are tamed in the very heart of our imagination.
