Sébastien Balibar, physicist at ENS Paris and member of the Academy of sciences, will present his book, Climate: a closer look to take action (Le Pommier) at Théâtre de la Reine Blanche on November 28th at 4:00pm. He will be interviewed by M.-O. Monchicourt.

Sébastien Balibar is a physicist at École normale supérieure (Paris). He leads the Physics section at the Academy of sciences, and takes part in the work of the "Committee for prospective and energy". His research on solids and liquids were awarded several french and foreign prizes. He has written several books for the broad audience, and presents the most recent one, Climate: a closer look to take action, published by Le Pommier (2015), on November 28th at 4p.m.

In this essay, the author reviews, analyses, criticizes and suggests solutions which will allow the various countries to choose the best adapted scenarios of energetic transition, which will allow them to reach the common objective. The comparaison he draws between France and Germany is particularly instructive.

Marie-Odile Monchicourt has been a journalist for thirty years at France-Culture, France-Inter and France-Info. She works now to popularize the recent results of fundamental research on our origins through shows and performance.

The Theater La Reine Blanche is the art and science stage of Paris. The scientific culture is shared there with the broad audience, through events like this one, but also through a regular programming of the "Scenes of science", where scientists present their most recent discoveries.
