Earthsound, an improvised music and environmental sound group based in Boston, MA will present a concert of original improvised music and pieces featuring recorded interviews of Alaskan community members speaking about their experiences with climate change.

Earthsound was founded in 2008 by bassist and composer Jason Davis in order to feature original improvised music with environmental sound. The group has been showcasing music integrating recorded interviews with people from around the world speaking about their personal experiences with climate change. Jason recently traveled to Shishmaref, Alaska, a small Iñupiat community on the shores of the Chukchi Sea that is undergoing profound transformations as the climate changes. Jason and local high school students recorded interviews with native elders and other community members about their responses to climate change. This Earthsound concert will feature new music featuring parts of the recorded interviews.
