"Droit des Graines" est un projet de loi pour le droits des semences, peint sur des sacs de graines vintage. Cette exposition artistique évoque le fait d'apprécier les merveilles qu'offrent les semences et l'importance de protéger cette précieuse source de notre chaîne alimentaire.

“The Law of Seeds” is a Bill of Rights for seeds, scribed with a quill pen on eleven vintage seed bags that are also painted with images of the stages of germinating corn from seed to mature plant. San Francisco Bay Area artist-activist Beth Grossman is using this art project to call attention to the necessity of national and international “seed law” to protect plant bio-diversity and the rights of individuals to save seed, keeping them in the public domain.

Inspired by the constitutions of Bolivia and Ecuador, each of which includes Articles on the Rights of Nature, Grossman invites the public to appreciate the wonders of seeds and engage in a discussion on the importance of protecting this precious source of our food chain. The Law of Seeds is about our accountability to future generations and ensuring that nature’s seed cycle will carry on.

Foster City is making a proclamation and exhibiting artwork that calls attention to the necessity to develop “seed law” that protects bio-diversity, the rights to save seed, and keep them in the public domain. This Bill of Rights for Seeds visual art exhibit is on view at the Foster City Recreation Center, 650 Shell Boulevard October 6 – October 29, 2015.

An “Honoring the Ancient Knowledge of Seeds that Nourish and Sustain All Living Beings” proclamation was presented by the Foster City Council at the City Council meeting on October 5th at City Hall - 610 Foster City Blvd.
