This Science Festival on the theme of climate change is more than a scientific event! many events and debates stimulate discussions and raise awareness bout the issues all across the Indonesian archipelago!

For the second year, the French Institute in Indonesia organizes the nationwide ‘Science Festival’. This popular festival targets this year again a topical social issue.

With the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, the topic of this Science Festival was obvious: it is the climate change. The Science Festival in Indonesia is however more than just a scientific festival. The Indonesian public is invited to tackle the issue of climate change through debates of ideas. Its objective is also to raise awareness regarding important environmental issues for Indonesia.

In addition to scientific conferences and activities, the Science Festival includes also a series of events, exhibitions, films and documentaries, debates, and playful initiatives.

All public, of all ages are involved: family, school, students, curious, skeptical or science enthusiasts.

The detailed program of the Festival of Science 2015 is available under

This event was made possible through the support and contributions of many French and Indonesian partners (research centers, universities, media).

The French Institute in Indonesia especially wish to thank AFD, IRD, CIRAD, Espace Mendes France and National Geographic Indonesia for their contribution to this festival.
