Presentation of the film “Planetary” and in-person introduction by astronaut Ron Garan for the launch of the globally touring exhibition “A View From The Cloud” produced by
Streaming Museum and World Council of Peoples for the United Nations.

On September 14, prior to the launch of the UN Sustainable Development Goals on September 25, Streaming Museum and World Council of Peoples for the United Nations will present the film "Planetary" at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza - "the Gateway to the United Nations." This stunning visual exploration of space and the world sheds new light on the ways our worldview is profoundly affecting life on our planet. The film will be introduced by astronaut Ron Garan, and the film’s producer Guy Reid and cinematographer, Christoph Ferstad. Also present will be prominent individuals from the United Nations and other sectors, and artists. A selection of work by international artists and designers that will be part of the global exhibition tour, will be presented prior to the guest speakers and Planetary screening.

This public event will introduce the multi-year arts program “A View From The Cloud” that will be produced in 2016 by Streaming Museum and World Council of Peoples for the United Nations. The exhibition will travel to public spaces and cultural centers on 7 continents, and includes an innovative interactive website.

It is significant to begin this internationally traveling program with the film “Planetary” and its message that seeing the earth from space enables a profound shift in perspective that positively influences the way people behave and impact the world.
