On the 21st of November, The Stove will run a banner making workshop for those participating the COP Climate Rally.
The Stove will turn into a banner making workshop on Saturday, 21st of November as we prepare and create a banner to be carried as part of the Stop Climate Chaos Rally in Edinburgh on 28th November. All are welcome to stop by for an hour or two, or all afternoon to help us create the Stove banner.
Craftivism is a global movement, a ‘slow-activism’ encouraging thoughtful action, discussion, gathering and the learning of new skills. As part of our open drop-in sessions we will be joining the Heart On Your Sleeve campaign, a national project led by craftivist Sarah Corbett. Work created can also be displayed as part of The Stove’s Submerge exhibition in December.
In preparation for the weekend event, Stitch In’s will take place at The Stove every Wednesday starting from the 28th of October, from 5pm to 8pm. These are drop in events so pop in when you can and are an ideal way to get to grips with the techniques and get inspiration ahead of our banner making weekend. Teas and Coffees will be available as well as materials and help to get you started. These sessions are open to everyone, but children must be supervised.
This event is part of ArtCOP Scotland and is funded by Creative Scotland Open Fund.
