"Bien sûr, les choses tournent mal". Of course everything goes wrong. With this performance for 9 dancers and musicians, Frank Micheletti translates into an artistic language the emergency of environment protection.
The CDC Atelier de Paris-Carolyn Carlson, as a “Centre de développement chorégraphique“, “center for dance development“ located in the Bois de Vincennes, presents "Bien sûr les choses tournent mal" from Frank Micheletti on the 9th and 10th of October 2015. This work for 9 dancers and musicians from the company Kubilaï Khan Investigations is connected with the Paris COP21, translating the same issues into an original poetic language.
"Bien sûr, les choses tournent mal" is the first in a two-part piece whose title, "Something Is Wrong", lucidly attests to the questions Kubilai Khan Investigations has been posing for more than twenty years. The dancers of this piece take to heart, and to body, the evolution of our societies, climate change, the transformational processes that act upon our present and veil our future, the intertwining of spaces and temporalities (real or virtual ?). Four dancers hailing from Mozambique, Singapore, Mexico and Europe, companions of Frank Micheletti’s many explorations, search for the echoes of planetary upheaval within themselves, without presuming to give it meaning. Dancing to live music mixed by a trio of musicians, they transect and sculpt space with the energy of those who have nothing to prove. Unique and multifaceted, they dance on the edge of the world, conscious of its evaporation. A work which has resonance with the COP21 being held in Paris.
As a real community time, the show is for all audiences. An "Immersion" will invite the audience, on the 10th of October in the afternoon, to attend a presentation of the work of the company, followed by a conference about artistic and environmental issues.
