Up to 60 butoh dancers will perform in a public spaces across Paris during COP 21, and in September at the finish of the Tour de France Cycling Alternatiba.

This work explores and celebrates the need for a harmonious relationship with the environment - bringing real urgency to the climate crisis.

What is Butô dancing?

Butô dancing expresses a relationship of the primeval body with its natural or urban environment. By the means of different body states (vegetable, animal or mineral) Butoh explores body in crisis, a victim of dehumanising technological progress, over consumption, the industrial war machine and climate change.

It is clear climatic warming has a direct affect on our bodies ; by showing just how sensitive we are to it participants and audiences are moved to connect to the urgency in the most visceral, physical way.
