An evening of short climate change plays and poems by some of the most exciting writers from Australia, Canada, France, India, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Uganda, and the U.S. presented in solidarity with COP21.
The CLIMATE CHANGE THEATRE ACTION, presented by NoPassport, The Arctic Cycle, and Theatre Without Borders, is a series of worldwide readings and performances intended to bring awareness to, and encourage discussion around, climate change.
This action is in support of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 21) taking place in Paris November 30-December 11, 2015.
A collection of 1-5 minute plays and poems by international writers, curated by Elaine Avila, Chantal Bilodeau, and Caridad Svich, will be available to collaborators worldwide during the month of November 2015. Collaborators are encouraged to design their own event, and hold them in a venue of their choosing, from a large theatre to outdoors, from online to a living room.
The goal of this action is to invite as many people as possible to participate in the climate change conversation.
The New York City event will be held on November 2, 2015 from 6:30-8 PM at the Nuyorican Poets Café.
