ArtCop21 and Good Energy to stage a live and loud cultural takeover of St. Pancras International Station as the UN Climate Change talks begin.
On the first day of COP21, 30th November 2015, ArtCop21 are partnering with Good Energy to bring a host of performances calling for major climate action. EARTH CAN YOU HEAR US? will fill St. Pancras International station's Grand Terrace with music, poetry and talks as UK delegates board the trains bound for Paris to participate in the most crucial United Nations summit in history.
The event will be hosted by BBC Radio 1 presenter Gemma Cairney and feature UN Climate Poet Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner topped off with a barnstorming headline performance by internationally acclaimed beatboxer Shlomo, who has worked with some of the biggest names in music including Bjork, Damon Albarn, Lily Allen, Jarvis Cocker, Martha Wainwright, and The Specials. Shlomo also know his polar bears; in 2008 he took part in Cape Farewell's Disko Bay expedition to the Arctic to engage with climate change.
Also speaking will be David Buckland, Director of Cape Farewell, the UK organisation behind the ArtCop21 programme, and Juliet Davenport, founder of Good Energy.
The event will also feature a very special surprise act for many of the 73,000 people who pass through the station each day, celebrating the power of collaboration and community to bring about positive change, and act as an urgent call to the politicians in Paris to commit to major climate action - so don't miss out!
