For 15 years, we have organised a jazz festival in a pristine forest located in the heart of Bosnia Herzegovina, in the eco-village Zelenkovac. Our festival mixes culture, ecology and sustainable tourism
Zelenkovac Jazz Festival is held every year in the ecological zone Zelenkovac, located in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 60 km south of Banja Luka. During three days, on the last week-end of July, the festival offers live music, as well as workshops on different subjects such as culture, environmental protection or sustainable tourism.
Coming to Zelenkovac is simply unique: an alternative place that started as an art gallery in 1985 in the middle of a mountainous forest. Nowadays, our small eco-village has grown and we welcome each year more and more travelers, tourists and artists from all nationalities who meet the locals that have been supporting us from the beginning.
Our environment looks like a movie scene: tall pine trees, a little river with many small bridges and wooden buildings that combine ethnographic tradition and artistic creativity.
Performing in Zelenkovac is an exclusive experience as the stage is in the middle of the woods.
It is also a commitment to promote alternative ways of life and ecology, to support cultural events in a rural and wild area and to reinforce cultures and religions mixing in a country that has known war a few years ago.
