Global March for Climate Solutions: Youth speakers lead march to park. Make OFF Fossil Fuels, ON Clean Energy video for leaders: Create huge oil drip with our bodies, transform to living solar power symbol. Wear yellow!

Sat., Nov. 28th 2–4 pm: This family-friendly Global March to Climate Solutions & Art Event kicks off with speeches by youth leaders of high school climate club, Mayor Piercy, and two elementary school kids suing the federal government for failing to protect their constitutional right to a healthy climate.

At 2:20, youths lead march—featuring giant puppets & hundreds of hand-painted sunflowers--through downtown to demand a science-based, binding climate treaty. We call for 80% of fossil fuel reserves to be left underground and 100% clean & renewable energy by 2050!

At 3:00, we arrive at Alton Baker Park to make a Thanksgiving video card to world leaders & Gov. Brown: OFF Fossil Fuels, ON Clean Energy! In the meadow, we’ll film from above as hundreds of us create a giant oil drip with our bodies (& black plastic bags provided); by our oil drip will be the word OFF (re-used white sheets). We’ll remove black bags to reveal yellow tops and transform oil drip into a giant living sun, symbolizing our collective transition from dirty to clean energy. We’ll send video to leaders in Paris & to Gov. Brown on Thanksgiving weekend (thank her in advance for rejecting the proposed Oregon fracked-gas-export pipeline only she can stop). “Climate Cookies” served by high schoolers.

Meet at Old Federal Bldg, 211 E. 7th Ave, Eugene, OR 97401, march over Ferry St. Bridge to Alton Baker Park, 100 Day Island Rd, Eugene, OR 97401. Wear yellow & join our massive community art project for the planet!
